Therapy

Individual, Family, and Group Therapy sessions provide children, adults, and families whose lives have been affected by child abuse and/or other personal and family issues with an opportunity to heal from traumatic experiences. Our therapists provide professional therapy services at a lower cost than most counseling and therapy providers in the county. Therapy fees are based on a sliding scale according to the individual’s ability to pay.

We are an outpatient facility, which means that clients primarily have access to therapists during regular business hours only. We do not provide any kind of medication treatment. Included on our staff are 2 full-time therapists who speak Spanish fluently.

We offer the following forms of therapy:

Play therapy
Sand tray therapy
Family therapy
Marriage therapy
Individual therapy

Play Therapy gives children 18 months to 18 years an opportunity to confront their traumatic experiences in a way that is appropriate for their age and developmental levels. Child-Centered Play Therapy typically focuses on issues such as safety, empowerment, and relationships. Because play is the natural language of children, this method of treatment allows them the freedom to confront their trauma without asking them to answer questions and interpret others’ actions that are beyond their level of understanding. Our agency has the largest number of therapists trained in play therapy so as to provide children with quality care without the threat of re-victimization.
